An Interview With Dr. Freeman, A Qualified Dentist In Bend

Are veneers covered by insurance?

Veneers are rarely covered by dental insurance plans unless associated with trauma or an accident. They are looked upon by the insurance industry as "cosmetic " and elective, even though with many patients they might be the best choice to address their particular problem. If you would like more clarification on this subject, please find the contact information on my website:Freemansmiles.com.

What dental problems can veneers correct?

Dental Veneers can hide defects in teeth that may be unsightly or discolored. They can also restore teeth back to their natural shape if they have been damaged over the years due to trauma or wear of chipping. In some cases, when teeth are not the correct shape, size or length, veneers can create the appropriate anatomical shape and contours to create a natural looking smile. Much too often, veneers are sold to patients simply to correct crooked teeth or disfunctional issues with someone's bite. The first step is to correct the crooked teeth or disfunction. This will allow the veneers or other treatment to be more conservative to the teeth and to the patient's wallet. Veneers can be the best solution for many issues and certainly more conservative than crowns where appropriate. They can also be the most over utilized treatment in dentistry. In our office, we are fortunate to help many patients improve their smile with many techniques, including veneers, but they do not correct all esthetic or functional issues.
